The NanoCell Interactions Lab investigates the molecular mechanisms underlying the interactions between nanoparticles, drugs, and eukaryotic cells, with a focus on their diverse biological effects. Our research has two main goals: (1) to evaluate the cytotoxic effects of micro- and nanomaterials, such as micro- and nanoplastics, and (2) to assess pharmacological alternatives. In both cases, we rely on phenotypic profiling using high-content imaging combined with image analysis tools and machine learning to extract detailed phenotypic profiles.
